In this week’s Monday Market Highlights, Investment Analyst Roland Houghton discusses the RBA’s decision to hold rates steady for the second month straight, along with the release of its quarterly statement of monetary policy which highlighted two key risks to increasing inflation – rising rents and the risk of labour productivity not improving. Roland also looks into China/Australia relations, the US June Core PCE index, the Michigan Consumer Sentiment survey, ISM manufacturing data and US employment data. In equity news, Roland highlights the ACCC blocking the sale of Suncorp’s banking arm to ANZ, RMD’s second quarter earnings, TPG, and Credit Corp.

In this week’s Monday Market Highlights, Investment Analyst Kate Power discusses US evidence of a resilient economy, the PCE price index offering good news on inflation, and the Fed’s raising of the Official Cash Rate by 25 basis points. In Australia, Kate focuses on the CPI print, along with a softer retailer sales print, which was good news for inflation. In equity news, Kate covers strong earnings results, with approximately 50% of the S&P 500 having reported. She also looks into Megaport and Macquarie Bank.
