Monday Market Highlights: 17 June 2024

In this week’s Monday Market Highlights, Investment Analyst Jerram Lindsay discusses US markets, which were lifted by increasing expectation of interest rate cuts, US CPI data, and US producer index and initial jobless claims. He also looks into the FOMC June meeting, the European Commission’s announcement that it will levy new duties on imports of battery electric vehicles from China, and Australian unemployment data. In equity news, Jerram covers Apple’s Apple Intelligence and Tesla. Also in Australia, he looks into the ACCC’s preliminary findings on the proposed acquisition of Chemist Warehouse by Sigma Healthcare.
